How artificial intelligence can enrich everyday school life

Artificial intelligence (AI) has long since found its way into our everyday lives—and it also offers exciting opportunities to redesign learning in schools. Used correctly, AI can support students in their individual learning and save teachers valuable time.

AI tools allow students to learn at their own pace. Whether it's grammar exercises, math problems, or reading comprehension, the programs automatically adjust the level of difficulty. This means that high-achieving students are given new challenges, while others receive additional explanations. AI can summarize complex texts, explain difficult terms, or formulate content in simple language. This gives students quick help to become more independent without having to constantly wait for support. Whether writing stories, gathering ideas, or planning presentations, AI can serve as a creative partner. New perspectives emerge, especially during brainstorming or in art classes (e.g., image generation). AI can take on routine tasks such as creating worksheets, formulating feedback, or generating small exercises. This leaves more time for what is essential: personal contact with learners. AI in schools is not only a tool, but also a subject of learning. Students should understand how AI works, where its limits lie, and why data protection and critical thinking are so important.

AI is neither a substitute for teachers nor a shortcut to learning. However, when used correctly, it can be a valuable tool that makes learning more individual, creative, and accessible. The future of teaching will not be determined by machines—but by people who use AI wisely.
